Title: Repealing Motorcycle Helmet Law

Vote to pass a bill that repeals the motorcycle helmet law for riders over 21 who have passed a safety course.

- Requires riders to wear eye protection (Sec. 8). - Requires proof of at least one million dollars in medical coverage [sec. 2 (2)]. - Replaces the Motorcycle Safety Education Fund on January 1, 2009 with the Motorcycle Safety and Training Fund (Sec. 14). - Replaces the previous safety course with one administered by the Department of Motor Vehicles (Sec. 10). - Charges violators of the Motorcycle Safety and Training Act with a class III misdemeanor (Sec. 22). - Sets the motorcycle registration fee at $11 (Sec. 4). - Amendment No. 1547 was offered by Sen. Rogert, supplementing the insurance requirements.
