Highlights:
- Requires inmates previously sentenced to death to motion the court and drop all appeals within 60 days of the enactment of this bill in order to be resentenced to life imprisonment in a maximum security prison without the possibility of parole (Sec. 2). - Retains inmates' original sentence of death if motion is not received within 60 days or appeals are not dropped (Sec. 2). - Requires a person convicted of murder to pay restitution to the victim's nearest surviving relative in an amount to be determined by the court (Sec. 3).
