Vote to adopt an amendment to S 2255 that prohibits state funds, including state pensions, from being invested in securities, stocks, and corporations doing business with any government designated as a state sponsor of terrorism.
-Relies upon the U.S. State Department's list of state sponsors of terrorism, which consists of Sudan, Syria, North Korea, Cuba and Iran [Sec. 8 (a)]. -Exempts companies engaged primarily in humanitarian aid and social services from the divestment [Sec. 8 (b)].
