Vote to pass a bill that requires food facilities to make specified nutritional information available to customers.

Highlights:

-Applies to a food facility in the state that has at least 9 others sharing the same trade name [Sec. 2 (a)]. -Requires that the following is listed for each menu item: total number of calories, total number of grams of saturated fat, total number of grams of trans fat, total number of carbohydrates and total number of milligrams of sodium [Sec. 2 (b)]. -Requires that the display of the information on menu boards must use the same or similar type font and size as other menu listings [Sec. 2 (c)]. -Provides exceptions for: certified farmers’ markets, commissaries, licensed health care facilities, mobile support units, public and private school cafeterias, restricted food service facilities, temporary food facilities and vending machines [Sec. 2 (e)]. -Sets fines of $50 to $500 for infractions, which will be assessed by a local enforcement agency [Sec. 2].
