Title: China Nonproliferation Act
Vote to table an amendment that requires the U.S. to place sanctions on countries, including China, if they are selling weapons of mass destruction (WMDs).
- Suspends U.S. assistance, military contacts and exchanges, and scientific, academic, and technical exchanges between the U.S. and the nation found selling WMDs.
- Denies access of U.S. capital markets to state-owned enterprises and companies owned or controlled by covered countries or nationals of covered countries.
- Requires the President to submit an annual report to Congress that identifies and monitors actions by nationals of covered countries known to produce WMDs.
