Title: Requires Courts Expunge Records of OWI Convictions if the Sentencing Occurred Before 1998
Vote to pass a bill that requires courts to, upon application, to expunge records of OWI convictions, if the sentencing occurred before 1998.
Authorizes expungement of charges for a first-time offender of operating a vehicle after consuming alcohol for persons under the age of 21 if the charge was prior to 1998 (Sec. 1).
Specifies that the offender must meet all the requirements of Section 291E-64 for the expungement to occur (Sec. 1).
Specifies that a person granted an expungement of conviction shall not be eligible for another expungement under this section (Sec. 1).
Authorizes expungement of charges for a first-time offender of property offense prior to July 1, 1998 to have their record expunged (Sec. 1).
