Title: Minimum Wage Increase Amendment
Vote to adopt an amendment that increases the minimum wage rate to $4.70 per hour during the year beginning on July 5, 1996, and to $5.15 per hour beginning July 5, 1997.
- Excludes certain computer professionals from minimum wage and overtime requirements when they earn at least $27.63 an hour.
- Allows an employer to waive the minimum wage increase for any employee less than 20 years old during the first 90 days of their employment and pay $4.25 per hour.
- Excludes certain employees in Puerto Rico from the minimum wage increase.
