Vote to pass a bill that appropriates $487.03 billion for the Defense Department, military construction, and the Energy Department for the fiscal year 2006.
Highlights:
- Appropriates $151.35 billion for military operations and maintenance, including $31.37 billion for the Air Force, $30.5 billion for the Navy, $24.88 billion for the Army, $19.91 billion for defense health programs, $18.62 billion for defense-wide activities, and $3.84 billion for the Marine Corps.
- Appropriates $109.24 billion for military personnel, which includes a 3.1 percent across-the-board pay increase.
- Appropriates $78.16 billion for procurement of aircraft, missiles, weapons, combat vehicles, ammunition, and shipbuilding. -Appropriates $69.84 billion for research, development, test and evaluation.
- Appropriates $50 billion for ongoing military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan and anti-terrorism activities.
