Title: Human Cloning Prohibition Act of 2001
Vote to pass a bill that would prohibit all forms of human cloning regardless of purpose and establish criminal and civil penalties for involvement in efforts to clone humans.
- Bans shipping or receiving an embryo produced by human cloning or any product derived from such embryo.
- Imposes criminal penalties of up to 10 years in jail and fines of $1 million or more.
- Directs General Accounting Office to report on developments in the scientific community and whether they justify revising the ban within 4 years of its enactment.
