Title: Exempts Minors from Prostitution Charges
Vote to pass a bill that exempts minors from certain prostitution charges, effective on or before Jan. 1, 2017.
Exempts children under the age of 18 from being charged with prostitution, loitering with the intent to commit prostitution, or any crime associated with solicitation (Sec. 1).
Requires peace officers to place minors in protective custody if the minor is found being exploited, soliciting sexual acts, or under the influence of alcohol or controlled substance (Sec. 1).
Prohibits individuals from concealing camcorders or recording devices to take pictures, videos, or sound recordings of another’s body without the other individual’s prior consent (Sec. 1).
Specifies that individuals found guilty of covertly recording others in a state of full or partial undress is punishable by no less than 45 days in jail and is not subject to probation or parole (Sec. 1).
Establishes that if an individual has been previously convicted of covertly recording others is subject to no less than 90 days in jail and not subject to parole or probation (Sec. 1).
Specifies that if a defendant knew the individual they solicited was a minor, the defendant is subject to 72 hours in jail and a fine between $1,000 and $10,000 (Sec. 1).
