Vote to pass a bill that authorizes the state to adopt the Interstate Compact on the Transfer of Public Lands.

Highlights:

• Authorizes the State of Arizona to adopt the Interstate Compact on the Transfer of Public Lands, with the purpose of identifying and transferring federally controlled public lands to the state (Sec. 1).

• Authorizes the State of Arizona to join the Compact Commission, which consists of representatives from member states that will administer the compact (Sec. 1). 

• Specifies that the commission possesses certain powers and duties, including, but not limited to, the following responsibilities (Sec. 1):
• To elect, by a majority vote, a chair and co-chair from the commission members;
• To receive, evaluate, and respond to input from commission members regarding actions taken by the federal government that interfere with the powers reserved to the state;
• To prepare an annual report of the commission’s activities for member and associate member states; and
• To hold a meeting at least once per year.

• Requires the commission to pay the expenses of its establishment, organization, and activities (Sec. 1).
