Title: Prohibits Hidden Compartments in Vehicles
Vote to pass a bill that prohibits the use of hidden compartments in motor vehicles for criminal activity.
- Classifies the intent to use a false or secret compartment in a motor vehicle for criminal activity as a first degree misdemeanor (Sec. 1).
- Defines “false or secret compartment” as any enclosure integrated into a motor vehicle that is a modification of the vehicle as built by the manufacturer (Sec. 1).
- Requires a motor vehicle with a false or secret compartment that is used for criminal activity to be forfeited unless the owner had no knowledge of the compartment or criminal activity (Sec. 2).
