Title: Cigarette and Tobacco Tax Increase
Vote Smart's Synopsis:
Vote to pass a bill that increases the tax on cigarettes by $1.00 or $1.04 per pack of twenty cigarettes, depending on weight, and the tax on other tobacco products, excluding cigars, to 40 percent of the manufacturers list price excluding special discounts, effective January 1, 2007.
