Title: Requiring Chain Restaurants to Post Nutrition Information
Vote to pass a bill that requires retail food establishments with 20 or more locations nation-wide to post the total number of calories for each item on the menu beginning 1 year after the date of enactment.
-Requires establishments that serve alcohol to post the average caloric value for beer, wine, and spirits, and a label with the following statement: "Signature drinks or liqueurs with added ingredients may increase calorie content" (Sec. 2). -Requires the calorie information of food to be posted clearly and conspicuously adjacent or in close proximity to the applicable menu item (Sec. 2). -Requires the disclosure of calorie information on a menu item that is a combination of at least two menu items to include the minimum and maximum number of calories (Sec. 2). -Requires the disclosure of calorie information, excluding desserts and appetizers, to include both the number of individuals intended to be served by the menu item and the calorie information per individual serving (Sec. 2). -Specifies that the requirements of this Act do not apply to the following (Sec. 2):
