Inhofe Praises Major Milestone for TSCA Reform

U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.), chairman of the U.S. Senate Environment and Public Works (EPW) Committee, released the following statement today after S. 697, the Frank R. Lautenberg Chemical Safety for the 21st Century Act, achieved 52 cosponsors, a majority of the U.S. Senate:

"Momentum continues to build for the Frank R. Lautenberg Chemical Safety for the 21st Century Act with now more than a majority of the Senate cosponsoring this important and timely piece of environmental reform legislation. The 52 cosponsors of the bill represent a total of 33 states, and I expect this representation to continue to grow as the bill moves towards floor consideration. I applaud Sens. David Vitter and Tom Udall for their tireless work in uniting our colleagues on both sides of the aisle in order to fix this broken law. S. 697 will restore consumer confidence in the everyday products used by families across the nation while creating a strong and workable national chemical management system. As Chairman of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, I am committed to shepherding this legislation through to the finish line."
