Republican Rep. Vern Buchanan introduced a bill to raise the amount startups can deduct from their federal income taxes from $5,000 to $20,000. The legislation has 16 bipartisan co-sponsors so far. "At a time when millions of Americans are unable to find good-paying jobs, government should be doing all it can to encourage entrepreneurs to create jobs," Buchanan said in a statement. A spokesman for Buchanan told yours truly that there are no pay-fors at this time.
