Cornyn Praises Senate Passage of Bipartisan Education Reform Bill

U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) issued the following statement today after voting for the bipartisan Every Child Achieves Act, which passed the Senate 81-17:
"Students are best served when decisions are made by the parents, teachers and local officials who know them best. By putting the power to make decisions in the hands of local communities, this legislation will give Texas school districts the flexibility they need to implement programs that ensure our children receive and retain a quality education.
"Today's strong support for the Every Child Achieves Act is yet another bipartisan achievement from a Senate that is back working on behalf of the American people."
