Congressman Donald M. Payne, Jr. (NJ-10) today released the following statement after the Supreme Court announced its 6-to-3 decision in King v. Burwell:

"Today's ruling guarantees that Americans in every state have access to subsidies to afford quality health care. This is a huge win for New Jersey families and families throughout our country, who will continue to have access to affordable, quality health care that is vital to their financial security and well-being.

"Under the Affordable Care Act, 254,316 New Jerseyans signed up for affordable health insurance coverage in 2015. Additionally, 3,847,727 non-elderly New Jerseyans, including 485,006 children across the state, can no longer be denied health coverage because of a pre-existing condition. The Affordable Care Act is working for New Jersey families, and millions of other Americans, who now have access to health coverage.

"Republicans should end their efforts to undermine the law and instead defend the many benefits the law provides to millions of children, seniors, and families."
