On Friday, Ted Cruz called upon Hillary Clinton to return all of the donations given to the Clinton Foundation from foreign governments, citing a "conflict of interest" during her tenure as Secretary of State.
In an email statement, Cruz wrote:
"The Clinton Foundation collected tens of millions of dollars from foreign governments including donors who had business interests with the State Department while Clinton was Secretary."
"At the very least, these revelations present a clear conflict of interest. I call on Hillary Clinton to return the donations from foreign governments."
The Cruz statement concluded by insisting that Clinton was untrustworthy, insinuating that she is unfit to serve as president.
Cruz has recently been on the offensive, after becoming the first high-profile Republican to declare his candidacy for the 2016 election. Cruz has hit the campaign trail in the weeks since, venturing to early primary states Iowa and New Hampshire.
