Blackburn Statement on Fort Campbell Troop Reduction

Congressman Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) issued the following statement in response to the announced troop reduction at Fort Campbell today:

"Though I am pleased Fort Campbell will not be hit hard by this troop reduction, a reduction to our Armed Forces in any number cripples our nation's ability to meet the challenges and threats posed by terrorists such as ISIS. Fort Campbell is the most heavily deployed Army base in the country, providing both the personnel and capabilities to respond and to protect our national interests. When Fort Campbell suffers a troop reduction, it is felt by our entire nation. We cannot push our military and their families to keep doing more with less funding and resources given the global threats confronting America at this time. The Montgomery Chamber of Commerce and Friends of Fort Campbell have been crucial advocates and I'd like to thank them for working with me in a team effort to address the concerns of this draw down," Blackburn said.
