Renacci Applauds Ways & Means Committee's Passage of Bills to Strengthen Medicare

Press Release

The Ways & Means Committee today approved 10 bills aimed at strengthening the Medicare program. This includes the Protecting Seniors' Access to Medicare Act, legislation that repeals the Independent Payment Advisory Board, and the Protect Medical Innovation Act, which repeals the medical device tax.

"As I travel around Ohio's 16th District, I consistently hear the same message: the government is inserting itself into personal health care decisions," said Rep. Jim Renacci (OH-16). "Doctors should be calling the shots, not federal bureaucrats. I was pleased to support this commonsense legislation that not only strengthens the Medicare program, but makes it more transparent and accountable to the seniors it serves. I thank Chairman Ryan for his leadership, and I look forward to working with the Committee toward real health care solutions that put patients first."
