Issues: Taxes

In Congress, Rep. Dave Trott is fighting for a simpler, fairer, pro-growth tax code so that families in Southeast Michigan can keep more of their hard-earned money.
Right now, the federal tax code is too complicated and too cumbersome. Michigan families and small businesses have to spend over 6 billion hours and over $160 billion a year trying to negotiate a labyrinth of forms and deductions.

Rep. Trott is working to reform and simplify the tax code to make it fairer and limit the many loopholes and special giveaways in the current system. Reforming America's outdated and overly complicated tax code will help create a healthier economy and generate more jobs in Southeast Michigan.

Having created over 1,800 jobs in Michigan during his career, Rep. Trott has seen firsthand how the complicated tax code places a heavy burden on hard-working families and discourages entrepreneurship. That is why he is committed to working for bipartisan solutions that will fix America's broken tax system and make sure that Michigan families are able to keep more of the money they work so hard to earn.
