Along with six members of the U.S. House and Senate, Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard (HI-02) today visited with the family members of those who were killed in yesterday's suicide bomb attack in Kuwait City. During afternoon prayers on June 26, a young man walked into the Al-Sadiq mosque in Kuwait's capital and largest city and detonated a bomb that left 27 dead and more than 200 injured. The BBC is reporting that an Islamic State-affiliated group is claiming responsibility for the lethal explosion.

"Tonight in Kuwait City, on behalf of the people of Hawaiʻi and the United States, I offered condolences and support to the family members of those who were killed in yesterday's suicide bomb attack," said Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard. "I held the hands of the broken-hearted wives and daughters of those who were killed in this horrific attack as they expressed their grief and anguish."

Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard is on a 6-day official visit to the Middle East with members of the U.S. House and Senate. She will return to Hawaiʻi on July 3.
