Takai Celebrates Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month

Today, Congressman Mark Takai (HI-01) released the following statement in recognition of Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month:

"It is an honor to celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage month with my colleagues in the House. I am fortunate enough to be a grandson of hard working immigrants from Japan, who came to Hawaii with the hope of building a better life. The opportunities my grandparents came for, are the exact kinds of opportunities that I want to ensure exist for generations to come. This month we should not only reflect upon the tremendous contributions of the AAPI community to society, but also consider the work that remains to be done."
