Takai Celebrates Historic Supreme Court Marriage Equality Ruling

Today, Congressman Mark Takai (HI-01) released the following statement after the Supreme Court ruled that states must recognize the marriages of same-sex couples:

"The Supreme Court's historic ruling reaffirms the fact that all citizens of our country should be afforded the same freedoms and rights granted by the Constitution. I am proud to represent a state that has already committed itself to protecting the rights of its people to be with the person they love. Today's ruling marks a tremendous step forward for the LGBT community and for our nation as well," Takai said.
