Ellmers Announces Second District Military Academy Appointees

Congresswoman Renee Ellmers (R-NC-02) announced the students from North Carolina's Second Congressional District who were appointed to attend a U.S. Military Academy.

"I am grateful for the opportunity to represent such bright and determined young men and women who have such a passion for serving our country. I know these 14 students will represent our state with great honor and distinction, and I wish them the best of luck in their future endeavors."

The following students were accepted for appointments to U.S. Military Academies after receiving an official nomination from Congresswoman Ellmers earlier this year. Additionally, these students and their families were honored in Dunn at a special reception hosted by the Congresswoman on Saturday, June 20, 2015:

Patrick Arata -- U.S. Military Academy (West Point)-- Patrick is from Fort Bragg and is the son of Kevin and Mary Anne Arata.
Nicholas Cobos -- U.S. Military Academy (West Point)-- Nicholas is from West End and is the son of Fernando and Luisa Cabos.
Timothy Lee -- U.S. Military Academy (West Point)-- Timothy is from Fayetteville and is the son of Sean and Elizabeth Lee.
Vaniah Mack -- U.S. Military Academy (West Point)-- Vaniah is from Fayetteville and is the daughter of Eugene and Waveen Mack.
Chance Mathias -- U.S. Military Academy (West Point)-- Chance is from Fayetteville and is the son of Steven and Pam Mathias.
Andrew Wanovich -- U.S. Military Academy (West Point)-- Andrew is from Fayetteville and is the son of James and Kimberly Wanovich.
Reagan Haverkate -- U.S. Air Force Academy-- Reagan is from Fayetteville and is the daughter of Scott and Erin Haverkate.
Heather Zimmie -- U.S. Air Force Academy-- Heather is from Sanford and is the daughter of Steven and Gulin Zimmie.
John Benton -- U.S. Naval Academy-- John is from Carthage and is the son of John and Rebecca Benton.
Michael Gomez -- U.S. Naval Academy-- Michael is from Fayetteville and is the son of Michael and Kelly Gomez.
Regan Kibby -- U.S. Naval Academy-- Regan is from Sophia and is the daughter of Charles and Tawnia Kibby.
Kerstie Sabo -- U.S. Naval Academy-- Kerstie is from Eastover and is the daughter of Lourdes Sabo.
Sharat Nemani -- U.S. Naval Academy-- Sharat is from Cary and is the son of Surya and Arati Nemani.
Kaleb Burrell -- U.S. Merchant Marine Academy-- Kaleb is from Sanford and is the son of Richard and Kerri Burrell.
