Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, a Senior Member of the House Homeland Security Committee and former Chairwoman of the Transportation Security Subcommittee, released the following statement on the Senate confirmation of Vice Admiral Peter V. Neffenger to be Administrator of the Transportation Security Administration:

"I congratulate Vice Admiral Neffenger on becoming the sixth Senate-confirmed Administrator of the Transportation Security Administration. I am hopeful that he will bring the depth of experience and leadership that TSA desperately needs and I look forward to discussing his vision and priorities for the agency. I trust that as Administrator, Admiral Neffenger will work with us to address the evolving threat to our transportation security system and other challenges TSA currently faces."
