Governor Tomblin Issues Statement Following Adoption of Board of Coal Mine Health and Safety Rule

Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin today issued a statement following the adoption of a new rule from the Board of Coal Mine Health and Safety related to the movement of underground equipment, part of the Coal Jobs and Safety Act of 2015 passed by the Legislature in March:

"I appreciate the hard work of members of the Board of Coal Mine Health and Safety, who represent both industry and labor. The rule unanimously adopted today will help modernize mining operations, while keeping our state's hardworking coal miners safe."
