Cramer: House Passes H.R. 1190, The Protecting Seniors' Access to Medicare Act of 2015

Press Release

Date: June 23, 2015
Location: Washington, DC

Today, Congressman Kevin Cramer joined a majority of his colleagues in the U.S. House of Representatives in passing H.R. 1190, the Protecting Seniors' Access to Medicare Act of 2015. Congressman Cramer is a co-sponsor of this bill. H.R. 1190 repeals sections 3403 and 10320 of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), which established the Independent Payment Advisory Board (IPAB).

"Our priority is protecting people from the impacts of a bad law. We don't need an unelected, 15 person board appointed by the President rationing health care in America. The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) bars practicing physicians from being members of IPAB. Doctors and nurses, not bureaucrats in Washington DC should be working with patients to determine what medical procedures are necessary," said Cramer
