Congresswoman Elizabeth Esty Calls for More Support for Veterans

Press Release

Date: April 30, 2015
Location: Washington, DC

Today, Congresswoman Elizabeth Esty (CT-5) voted against the Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, & Related Agencies Appropriations Act for Fiscal Year 2016, H.R. 2029. Esty cited insufficient support for veterans, especially with regards to reducing the VA backlog.

"At a time of tight budgets, serving our veterans must remain a priority. If we send our men and women off to war, we must support them when they return home," Esty said. "I am committed to working towards a smarter, leaner government, and that means making smart investments. There is no smarter investment or greater duty than honoring our commitment to our veterans and military families."
