Governor Rick Scott Appoints John L. Badalamenti to the Second District Court of Appeal

Today, Governor Rick Scott announced the appointment of John L. Badalamenti to the Second District Court of Appeal.

Badalamenti, 40, of Tampa, has served an Assistant in the Appellate Division of the Office of Federal Defender, Middle District of Florida, since 2006. He previously served as a Law Clerk to the Honorable Paul H. Roney from 2003-2006. Badalamenti began his legal career as an attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice's Federal Bureau of Prisons in1999. Badalamenti serves as the Chair of the Florida Bar Federal Court Practice Committee. He received his bachelor's, master's, and law degrees from the University of Florida. Badalamenti fills a vacancy created by the resignation of Judge Charles A. Davis, Jr.

Governor Rick Scott said, "I welcome John to his new position on the Second District Court of Appeal and I am confident he will serve Florida families honorably."
