House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) released the following statement today regarding House passage of H.R. 2596, the Intelligence Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2016.

"Today's strong bipartisan vote advances the critical national security infrastructure that helps keep Americans safe. The brave men and women of our intelligence community work day and night to protect our country by identifying, assessing, and combatting the countless threats to our nation and our American way of life. Making sure America's intelligence agencies have the tools needed to accomplish their mission efficiently and effectively is one of our highest responsibilities. I applaud the leadership and hard work of Chairman Nunes and the members of the Intelligence committee for making sure this bill includes tools and reforms necessary to protect American citizens."
