Why are women paid less than their male counterparts? At the moment I am not able to answer that question. However, I believe if a woman has the same skills, experience, and same number of years in the workforce as a man, they should receive the same pay. Our women make a profound contribution not only to the workforce, but also play an integral role in keeping a strong household together. We, as men, should appreciate women much more than some of us do, or claim to do. Women carry the seeds of life, incubates and nutures that seed until it is ready to be shown to the world.

I believe women should not only have equal pay but also more time off from the workforce when she is pregnant. I once had a sergeant while serving in the calvary at Ft.Carson, Colorado and he said to the soldiers one day that women make better fighter jet pilots because they are better mulitaskers. I thought he was absolutely correct. Think about it, a woman can talk on the phone, cook dinner, iron clothes, change the baby diapers all at the same time, right after putting in a hard days work at the job.

If I am elected, I hope to form a committee that can help better improve the lives as well as pay with our working mothers. Again, I just do not think it is fair for a man to get paid more for a skill in a career if a woman has the same if not more experience of the same set of skills.
