The five-year anniversary of the Affordable Care Act is nothing to celebrate -- and now more than ever, efforts must be made to repeal it, Rep. Diane Black, Republican from Tennessee tells Newsmax TV.

"Forty times the president has changed it … Forty different changes say that this healthcare law is a mess, it has been a mess, it's unaffordable, unworkable, unpopular, and unfair," Black, a Tennessee Republican told "The Steve Malzberg Show."

"There's broken promises one right after another … the most famous one was if you like what [coverage] you have, you can keep it. We know that's not true. People … lost their doctors, they lost the hospital they could go to."

Meanwhile, premiums and copays under the Affordable Care Act continue to rise, according to Black, a member of the House Committee on Ways and Means and House Budget Committee.

She said House Republicans will vote Wednesday on a budget resolution that would effectively appeal and replace the healthcare law.

"But we don't know what the Senate's going to do. We're hoping that our partners over at the Senate will take this up and that they will create a bill as we have over here to help get rid of this terrible piece of legislation and move us forward," Black said.
