Congressman Gary Palmer, a member of the Science, Space and Technology Committee, supported the NASA Authorization Act for 2016 and 2017 which authorizes the National Aeronautic and Space Administration (NASA) for an additional two years. The bill was marked up in committee today and passed by a vote of 19-15.
"I am proud to support space exploration and the mission of NASA. This bill will authorize NASA for an additional two years, while honoring the Budget Control Act (BCA) spending limits. This bill would fully fund the Space Launch System at Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama, which will keep America at the forefront of space exploration for years to come. It will also give appropriate policy guidance to ensure our mission in space exploration remains NASA's top priority."
