Huizenga: We Shouldn't Have to Borrow Money to Pay for the President's Misguided Proposals

Today, Congressman Bill Huizenga released the following statement regarding the President's FY 2016 Budget Proposal:

"It's clear that by putting forward a budget that never balances, President Obama isn't serious about addressing the nation's growing debt. Under his latest proposal, the President would add $8.5 trillion to the debt and triple the cost of financing it. The fact is: We shouldn't have to borrow money to ensure our veterans receive the care they deserve; we shouldn't have to borrow money to make sure our national defense remains strong; we shouldn't have to borrow money to make sure our infrastructure needs are met, however, that is precisely what the President has proposed.

"Instead of tackling the major challenges facing families across the nation, this debt-exploding proposal is yet another extension of the same tax and spend policies that have failed to deliver much needed relief to middle class families across West Michigan. I am hopeful that when Republicans unveil our budget proposal in March, a serious discussion about getting the nation's fiscal house in order will begin."
