CONGRESSMAN DENT CALLS ON ALL AMERICANS TO HONOR MEN AND WOMEN IN UNIFORM FOR ARMED FORCES DAY
May 21, 2005

WASHINGTON, D.C.-U.S. Rep. Charlie Dent (PA-15) issued the following statement in honor of Armed Forces Day, to be celebrated May 21, 2005:

"On behalf of everyone in the 15th District of Pennsylvania, I extend my gratitude to the men and women of our military on this Armed Forces Day. Since 1950, we have taken one day each May to honor the men and women serving in our land, sea and air defenses throughout the world.

Today more than ever we honor these bravest of Americans for their constancy and courage - to borrow a phrase from President Eisenhower. We should take some time every day to be thankful that even in the most uncertain times, there are men and women dedicated to defending our nation and her people from all enemies, foreign and domestic."

Congressman Dent encourages everyone in the 15th District to consult their local newspapers to find and attend worthy events to celebrate Armed Forces Day.
