Menendez, Booker Announce Over $7.5M in Federal Funding for Sandy Recovery

U.S. Senators Robert Menendez and Cory Booker (both D-N.J.) today announced the awarding of a combined $7,562,563.00 in federal Sandy relief grants through the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). This funding will go to Woodbridge and Borough of Manville, NJ. to help with the acquisition and demolition of flood prone properties as a result of Superstorm Sandy. .

"This Sandy relief funding will help continue local efforts to buy and demolish flood-prone homes in Woodbridge and Manville, protecting residents and making these communities more resilient." said Senator Menendez. "As our state continues on its path to full recovery from Superstorm Sandy, we must recognize there is still much work to be done . That is why I vow to keep fighting to ensure homeowners and local communities receive the resources they need to rebuild stronger and more prepared for future storms."

"Buyouts of flood-prone homes are critical to New Jersey's long-term recovery from Superstorm Sandy," said Sen. Booker. "This funding is another step forward in keeping our residents safe from future storms. I will continue to work with New Jersey's Congressional delegation to ensure FEMA lives up to their commitment to New Jersey's full recovery."
