Congressman Gibbs Votes to Repeal Obamacare

Press Release

Date: Feb. 3, 2015
Location: Washington, DC

Congressman Gibbs released the following statement after the House voted to repeal Obamacare:

"Today, the House voted for a full repeal of the President's disastrous health care law. If the President chooses to sign this bill into law, all provisions of Obamacare will be repealed after 180 days of its enactment. Americans should be able to select a patient-centered health care plan that is both affordable and provides the coverage they need. Not only is this law damaging to families and individuals, it continues to hurt jobs and our economy. The CBO estimated Obamacare will reduce the number of full-time workers by 2.5 million. This is unacceptable.

"H.R. 596 repeals Obamacare and instructs several Committees of jurisdiction to submit legislative solutions to reform our health care in America. American families deserve better than Obamacare. Today, Republicans begin the process to replace Obamacare, reduce health care costs, and end job-killing mandates."
