Rep. Paul Cook Urges President to Sign Legislation to Build the Keystone XL Pipeline

Rep. Paul Cook (R- Apple Valley) voted for the Keystone XL Pipeline Act, sending the jobs bill to President Obama's desk for his approval.

After six years of delays by the administration and Senate Democrats, Congress will send this important jobs and infrastructure project to the president's desk. His approval of the Keystone XL pipeline will support approximately 42,000 jobs by immediately authorizing the project.

Said Cook, "For the first time in six years, legislation approving the Keystone Pipeline will be sent to the President for his approval. He has the choice to build the Keystone XL Pipeline and support good environmental, fiscal, and national security policy. I hope President Obama will choose to create tens of thousands of American jobs and strengthen our energy security by signing this jobs legislation."

A member of the House Natural Resources, Armed Services, and Foreign Affairs Committees, Cook served as an infantry officer and retired after 26 years as a Colonel in the U.S. Marine Corps. During his time in combat, he was awarded the Bronze Star and two Purple Hearts.
