Titus Statement on State of Texas v. United States of America

Statement

Date: Feb. 17, 2015
Location: Las Vegas, NV
Issues: Legal Immigration

Congresswoman Dina Titus of Nevada's First Congressional District released the following statement on the decision of a U.S. District Judge in Texas in the case of the State of Texas v. United States of America:

"The Department of Justice, legal and immigration experts, and five decades of precedent support the President's steps to fix our immigration system, but sadly the flawed decision by a handpicked judge in Texas, who has gone above and beyond to criticize federal immigration policy, will delay the implementation of key protections for immigrant men and women, including some 20,000 living in Southern Nevada.

"We may be disappointed, but we will not be deterred by this delay. That's why I will continue to protect families from the morally indefensible and economically foolish war on immigrants, and work alongside our immigrant community to prepare for the expansion of DACA and rollout of DAPA."
