U.S. Senator Sheldon Whitehouse released the following statement regarding the death of Pawtucket Times and Woonsocket Call reporter and columnist Jim Baron:

"Jim was a unique figure watching Rhode Island politics. He brought to it a keen political mind and a gift for writing. I send my condolences to Jim's family and his colleagues at the Pawtucket Times and Woonsocket Call."
