Crenshaw Votes to Repeal ObamaCare in its Entirety

Press Release

Date: Feb. 3, 2015
Location: Washington, DC

Congressman Ander Crenshaw, Chairman of the House Financial Services and General Government Appropriations Subcommittee, today (2/3) voted to pass legislation to repeal the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act in its entirety. The measure (H.R. 596) passed by a vote of 239 to 186 and moves to the United States Senate for consideration.

An opponent of ObamaCare who has voted 59 times to repeal, replace, and defund the nation's new health care law, Crenshaw is a co-sponsor of H.R. 596. He issued the following statement following House passage of the legislation:

"From new tax requirements and penalties to higher deductibles, canceled plans, and heavy regulations, citizens across Northeast Florida and the nation continue to feel the pain of the failed promises of ObamaCare. They're frustrated and upset at having to deal with a law they didn't want in the first place -- a law that continues to dampen job creation and economic growth.

"That's why I voted to repeal ObamaCare in full and move toward solutions that put the patient in control of their care while also creating strong marketplace competition to drive costs down and quality of care up. Americans deserve a stronger health care system, and this legislation clears a path to providing that result."
