Congressman Pittenger Sworn-In to 114TH Congress Focused on Jobs, Economy, Tax Relief, National Security

This afternoon, Congressman Robert Pittenger (NC-09) was sworn-in for his second term representing the people of Mecklenburg, Iredell, and Union counties in the United States House of Representatives. With the departure of former Congressman Mel Watt, Congressman Pittenger is now the only Member of Congress to live and work in Charlotte.

"Hardworking American families want good-paying jobs, a healthy economy, and a responsible government that spends their tax dollars wisely. We must restore common sense and fiscal sanity in Washington, and I will work in a bipartisan fashion to accomplish these goals.

"At the same time, I will continue my efforts to keep your family safe by serving as Chairman of the Congressional Task Force on Terrorism and Unconventional Warfare, working to blunt the growth of ISIS and other related terrorist organizations, strengthen relationships with important allies, and reassert American leadership to restore stability and peace."

Congressman Pittenger is a Member of the House Committee on Financial Services, serves as Chairman of the Congressional Task Force on Terrorism and Unconventional Warfare, and is a Member of the Republican Whip Team.
