Location: Washington, DC

Today, U.S. Representative Richard Hudson (NC-08) released the following statement after the President signed two of his bills into law. As a Freshman Member, Rep. Hudson has had extraordinary success bringing both Republicans and Democrats to the table to find common ground and bipartisan solutions that put the priorities of the American people first.

"As Representative of North Carolina's eighth district, I set out to work with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to advance fiscally responsible, commonsense solutions that root out government waste and save taxpayer dollars. I'm proud of the bipartisan support these laws received, and I hope that it's a model we can follow on some of the bigger issues facing our country."

Both H.R. 5462 and H.R. 2719 received unanimous support from the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate. H.R. 5462, to limit the fees charged to passengers of air carriers and clarify Congressional intent, was signed into law on December 16, 2014. For more information on this law, please click here.

H.R. 2719, The Transportation Security Acquisition Reform Act, introduces greater transparency and accountability for TSA spending decisions through a series of commonsense reforms. It was signed into law on December 18, 2014.
