Palazzo on Passage of Bill to Protect Veterans

Statement

Date: Jan. 7, 2015
Location: Washington, DC

Congressman Steven Palazzo (MS-4) released the following statement regarding the House passage of the H.R. 22, Hire More Heroes Act of 2015:

"This bill protects employers from being penalized for hiring veterans. More importantly, it protects our veterans from Obamacare's employer mandate that leaves thousands of soldiers without jobs. Ensuring the protection and exceptional treatment of those who have sacrificed greatly to protect our freedoms remains one of my top priorities in Congress.

"I look forward to many more conservative legislative victories under our new Republican-controlled Congress that protect hard-working Americans from the harmful effects of this administrations bad policies."

Congressman Palazzo is an original co-sponsor of The Hire More Heroes Act that unanimously passed in the House of Representatives on the first day of the 114th Congress. The bill excludes veterans from the Affordable Care Act employer mandate threshold if they already have healthcare through TRICARE or the Veterans Administration.
