Today, Congressman Peter Roskam (IL-06) released the following statement applauding House passage of H.R. 22, the Hire More Heroes Act:
"Our new Republican majority is committed to advancing the priorities of the American people who sent us here. Today, the House began the 114th Congress by unanimously passing the Hire More Heroes Act, which incentivizes businesses to hire more veterans by exempting veterans with health coverage through the VA from being counted against Obamacare's employer mandate. The brave men and women who sacrifice so much for our country should have every opportunity to secure good-paying, full-time jobs following their service. This commonsense measure will help spur job creation and reintegrate our nation's heroes back into the workforce, and I look forward to the Senate acting to send this critical bill to the President's desk."
