Cornyn to Chair Subcommittee at Forefront of U.S. Trade Agenda

U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) announced today he was named Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee's Subcommittee on International Trade, Customs, and Global Competitiveness for the 114th Congress. This chairmanship will put Sen. Cornyn at the forefront of developing a U.S. trade agenda to grow America's economy and competitiveness.

"Texas has led the nation in exports for over 10 years, and hardworking Texans in communities across our state have seen firsthand how our economy can benefit from robust international trade. I thank Chairman Hatch for trusting me with this position, and I look forward to continuing to build on the Texas model and the United States' trade advantages."

Senator Cornyn will also sit on the Subcommittee on Energy, Natural Resources, and Infrastructure, and the Subcommittee on Taxation and IRS Oversight.
