Neugebauer to Chair Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit Subcommittee

Statement

Date: Nov. 20, 2014
Location: Washington, DC

Rep. Randy Neugebauer (R-TX) released the following statement after being named Chairman of the House Financial Services Subcommittee on Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit for the 114th Congress:

"It is a real honor to serve on the Financial Services Committee under the leadership of my friend and fellow Texan, Chairman Hensarling. During the 113th Congress, the Committee has passed dozens of bills to enable our economy to reach its full potential and expand opportunity for all Americans. Unfortunately, the Senate has failed to act on many of these common sense solutions. I am optimistic that the new political landscape will bring more prospects to move important legislation to the President's desk," Neugebauer said.

"I thank Chairman Hensarling for the trust he has placed in me, and I am honored and humbled to serve as Chairman of the Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit Subcommittee. We will continue to focus on growing our economy, creating more jobs, and holding Washington accountable to the American people."

"Chairman Neugebauer is a thoughtful and pragmatic member of our team whose experience prior to Congress as a small businessman, banker, and homebuilder gives him a real-world understanding and common sense approach to the policies we are pursuing for a healthy economy that brings opportunity for all," said House Financial Services Chairman Jeb Hensarling (R-TX).
