Congressman Joe Garcia Issues Statement in Anticipation of President's Executive Action on Immmigration

Statement

Date: Nov. 19, 2014
Location: Washington, DC

In anticipation of the President's announcement on executive action on immigration, Congressman Joe Garcia issued the following statement:

"I applaud the President for finally taking bold, decisive action to address this country's immigration crisis. He gave this Congress plenty of time to pass immigration reform legislation, but Republican leadership has made it clear they have no intention of actually solving our immigration problems. If Congress isn't willing to do its job, it's up to the President act.

I look forward to learning the details of the President's actions, but am certain he will provide much needed relief to countless families that are American in every way but on paper. The President has the legal justification to act, as others have done before him, and I hope he uses his authority to its greatest extent."
